The Very Hungry Caterpillar in cake!

One of my personal favorite children’s stories, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, is a tale of a little creature that eats and eats and eats.  I’ve added a few illustrations from the book below to see the similarities I tried to pull off on this cake.  All pieces, including hand painted food on the bottom tier are edible.😉

Happy 1st Birthday Matt Jr.!!

What should I do with this cake?!?

We recently celebrated our twins Baptism with a small dinner that ended with simple smash cakes for the two.  Being around cakes that they can NOT touch all the time, they both looked around as though they were not sure what the repercussions would be.  They looked, sat back, leaned in, looked at each other and then went at it.  Their expressions were priceless.  Here’s a few snap shots of the duo and their cake adventure.  My favorite is the last as it shows Jacob almost in remorse for the job he’s done on his cake.   I’d caption it…What have I done?!?
